Border Zone Museum Helmstedt
The Border Zone Museum Helmstedt is devoted to the history of the inner-German border, which for decades ran directly at the gates of the city. Through vivid exhibitions it documents the border installations, escape stories, everyday life of people in the borderland and the consequences of division. Original objects, photographs and eyewitness accounts make history tangible. Complementing the Marienborn Memorial, the museum offers a deep insight into a defining chapter of German history.
