St Walpurgis Church
St Walpurgis Church is among the oldest places of worship in Helmstedt and is dedicated to Saint Walburga. The plain, dignified building served over the centuries as a parish church and at times as a convent church. Despite several alterations, it has retained its medieval character. It is a quiet place of remembrance away from the busy market lanes and an important part of the rich ecclesiastical heritage of the university city.
