Lübbensteine Megalithic Tombs
The Lübbensteine are two impressive megalithic tombs from the Neolithic period, around 5,000 years old. Set at the edge of the Lappwald forest, they are among the oldest monuments in the region and bear witness to the earliest settlers of this landscape. The massive erratic boulders were once erected as burial chambers and are today embedded in a small park. A walk to the Lübbensteine combines a nature experience with a fascinating journey into prehistory.
